The Pro Golf Carts (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through theprogolfcarts.co.za, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

The Pro Golf Carts is a South African supplier of premium electric golf carts. For POPIA purposes, we are the responsible party for personal information processed through this website and related enquiries.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries and operate our website.

Information you give us when you submit the contact form, email us, call us, or message us on WhatsApp:

First name and last name
Phone number
Email address (if you provide one)
Preferred golf cart colour or model
Any message or details you include in your enquiry

Information collected automatically when you visit the website:

Pages viewed and the date and time of the visit
A one-way hash derived from your IP address and browser, used only to count unique daily visitors (we do not store your raw IP address for this purpose)
Browser and device information collected by advertising and analytics partners described below

We do not ask for identity numbers, payment card details, or other special personal information through this website.

The contact form includes a hidden field used only to detect automated spam. If that field is filled in, the submission is discarded and is not treated as a genuine enquiry.

4. How we use your information

We process personal information to:

Respond to enquiries and send quotes or product information
Contact you by phone, email, or WhatsApp about your request
Send an automatic confirmation email when you include an email address on the contact form
Understand which pages are visited so we can improve the website
Measure advertising performance (including Google Ads and X / Twitter conversion tracking)
Protect the website against spam and abuse

We rely on one or more of these POPIA grounds: your consent (for example, when you submit an enquiry), performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in operating and promoting the business in a way that does not override your rights.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run the business, including with:

Email delivery. Enquiry details are emailed to our team at info@theprogolfcarts.co.za. If you provide an email address, we send you a confirmation from noreply@theprogolfcarts.co.za.
WhatsApp / Meta. If you use the WhatsApp button or message us, WhatsApp processes that conversation under its own terms.
Google. Google Ads conversion tracking helps us understand whether advertising led to a visit or enquiry. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
X (Twitter). X conversion tracking helps us measure advertising on that platform. See X’s Privacy Policy.
Service providers and professional advisers who help us host, maintain, or advise on the website, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
Authorities where we are required by law to disclose information.

6. Cookies and tracking

We and our advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies.

First-party website analytics. When a page loads, the site may send a small request to our own server recording the page path. We honour Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals: if your browser sends either, that visit is not counted. Hashed visitor identifiers are kept only for the current day and then discarded. Aggregated daily counts are kept for up to 12 months.

Google Ads. We use Google Ads conversion tracking (tag AW-677507636) to measure the effectiveness of our ads. Google may set cookies and collect device and usage data according to its policies.

X (Twitter) conversion tracking. We use X conversion tracking (pixel ID qkyfp) for the same purpose on that platform.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how the site and ads work. You can also use Google’s Ads Settings and industry opt-out tools to limit personalised advertising.

7. How long we keep information

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically up to 24 months), unless a longer period is required for a sale, warranty, or legal obligation.
Website analytics are kept as aggregated daily counts for up to 12 months. Recent page-path records used for an internal dashboard are limited to a short rolling list.
We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not send sensitive information (such as passwords or payment card numbers) through the contact form or WhatsApp.

9. Your rights

Subject to POPIA, you may:

Ask whether we hold personal information about you
Request access to that information
Request correction or deletion of inaccurate, incomplete, or excessive information
Object to processing, including for direct marketing
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

10. Direct marketing

We use the contact details you give us to respond to your enquiry. We will not send you unrelated marketing emails or messages unless you have opted in, or another lawful basis under POPIA applies. You can opt out at any time by contacting us or using an unsubscribe option where one is provided.

11. Children

This website is intended for adults interested in purchasing or enquiring about golf carts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. International transfers

Some of our service providers (including Google and X) may process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards available under POPIA, including that those parties are subject to laws or agreements that provide an adequate level of protection, or that the transfer is necessary to deal with your enquiry.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. The current version is always available at theprogolfcarts.co.za/privacy/.
